1. How can Valero Buying Club assist me?
Valero Buying Club is a marketing association for convenience/gas operators and jobbers. Our organization was developed by retailers for the benefit
of retailers. We negotiate pricing and promotions for independent and multi-location
operators. Since Valero Buying Club acts as a large chain, you may be eligible for
rebates that are not available to you as an independent dealer.
2. How do I know what vendors offer programs through Valero Buying Club?
Valero Buying Club provides a Vendor Programs & Merchandising
Guide to all of its members on an annual basis. This guide includes includes the
name of the vendor and the program components. Throughout the year the guide should
be referenced for information regarding Valero Buying Club program details.
3. Do Valero Buying Club's authorized vendors offer monthly specials?
Yes. On a monthly basis Valero Buying Club produces a magazine called
The Competitive Edge. The magazine will communicate any specials we have negotiated with our vendors for the month. The magazine is provided directly to your requested
address. Valero Buying Club's specialists call each member to review the monthly
specials and take orders on special items which need to be tracked.
4. Whom do I order my merchandise from?
There is no need to change your ordering process as long as your are
using a Valero Buying Club authorized distributor. Purchases from wholesale clubs
are not eligible for rebates, i.e., Sam's
Club. Valero Buying Club will take some
orders for selected items that will be available in the monthly magazine to ensure the member receives all allowances from the promoted product.
5. How often are rebate checks disbursed?
Rebate checks are disbursed on a quarterly basis, 45 days after the
quarter ends. The checks are provided with a detailed report, referenced by vendor,
program and amount received. This allows a member to verify their rebates from the
appropriate vendors.
6. How are the rebates figured and who tracks my purchases?
Rebates are based on your actual purchases. The qualifiers will vary
by vendor, as described in the vendor directory. Valero Buying Club tracks your
purchases through velocity information from the wholesalers or direct sales distributors
and is sent to Valero Buying Club's National Office where they are sorted for the
vendor and submitted for your rebates.
7. Can I participate in other purchasing groups, along with Valero Buying Club?
In order to prevent duplication of allowances, your location can only
be tracked under one chain account.
